LIFECOIN STICKER

Floor stickers playing iconic game sounds when stepped on making social distancing more enjoyable. Viral video spread across social media, driving successful store introduction.

WHY

COVID-19 has adversely impacted our lives as well as our mental health.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which was first discovered in December 2019, spread throughout the world rapidly to become one of the most severe global pandemics in human history. As of November 2020, it has claimed more than 1.4 million lives worldwide, and there appears to be no end in sight.
In order to prevent further outbreaks, the prevention of virus spread through coughing and sneezing is essential, prompting governments of every nation to recommend or enforce social-distancing and mask-wearing.
While reactions to these policies widely vary between countries, there is no doubt that our way of life has been radically changed due to this COVID-19 disaster. It has become an impediment to social life and takes a heavy toll on the mental health of citizens.

HOW

Enjoy social-distancing
with a sticker
that makes a sound.

Eisuke Tachikawa, president of NOSIGNER, who founded PANDAID, a collaborative editorial website that collects wisdom on how to save lives from a pandemic, developed “LIFECOIN STICKER” as part of the activities. LIFECOIN is a floor sticker that can be used by businesses and government agencies that are resuming their economic activities while taking into account social-distancing. The stickers, which mimic the shape of the coins in the game, can also incorporate a motion sensor as a feature, and when you step on the sticker, a distinctive sound effect will sound. In various games, coins are symbol and motif for increasing life. This is what inspired us to create these stickers, and we hope that people will be aware of protecting their own lives and their loved ones. We created this design in a fun way to easily reach people of all ages.

WILL

Towards a future where we can positively practice new style of life.

The video showing how to use the LIFECOIN STICKER was widely shared on social media immediately after it was released. Also, the circle of activities is gradually expanding as we have raised supporters through crowdfunding sites. We are also in talks with several local governments to collaborate with them in a donate way, and we plan to spread the stickers in places where we expect to see crowds of people, such as hospitals, city hall counters, supermarkets, restaurant checkout lines, bus stops, train platforms, and ticket vending machines. It is said that it will take several years for this pandemic to cool down globally. That’s why our goal is to create an environment in which social-distancing can be practiced in our daily lives, and also to be well prepared for the second and third waves of infection that are expected to occur in the future.
