▍Comment from Eisuke Tachikawa
At the World Design Congress 2025 held in London, I was reappointed as a Board Member of the World Design Organization (WDO) and will continue to serve for another two-year term.

There is also wonderful news: Ms. Makiko Tsumura of the Japan Institute of Design Promotion has been elected as the next WDO President (2027–2029). It is unprecedented for two members from Japan to serve on the WDO Board simultaneously. Together with Ms. Tsumura, I hope to take this opportunity to further strengthen Japan’s contribution to the global design community.

Over the next two years, I intend to focus on the following:
・ Promoting and sharing design approaches for climate adaptation in response to the intensifying natural disasters worldwide
・ Preserving and passing on design heritage to future generations
・ Discovering and advocating for design that creates a positive impact for the future and natural world

Japan has a long tradition of living in harmony with nature. By sharing our experiences in disaster recovery and learning from exemplary practices around the world, I aim to ensure that design plays a vital role where it is most needed.

Thank you for your continued support over the next two years.
