Debate Around Evolutional Creativity and Our Response
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Since its publication, Evolutional Creativity, authored by NOSIGNER founder Eisuke Tachikawa, has received both wide acclaim—including the Yamamoto Shichihei Award—and strong criticism, notably in the form of a publication titled Critiques of Evolutional Creativity by a group of researchers.
While some of the critiques raised important points worth sincere reflection, others appeared to stem from scientific misunderstandings or lacked constructive intent, making it challenging to respond.
Nevertheless, Tachikawa chose to treat these criticisms as a form of “selective pressure,” and under the supervision of Professor Masakazu Kawata (Tohoku University / President of the Japan Society for Evolutionary Studies), thoroughly revised the content.
In December 2023, an expanded and revised edition of the book was published, featuring approximately 50 new pages and significant updates to improve both accuracy and readability.
More recently, Persimmon, an expert in evolutionary biology, released a 200,000-character article meticulously addressing the scientific issues in the Critiques volume. In addition, Dr. Sadaharu Morinaka, president of the Biogeographical Society of Japan, published a constructive review that affirmed the value of Evolutional Creativity.
We believe no work is ever perfect—and that is precisely why we welcome dialogue and critique as opportunities to evolve and improve.
We remain committed to sincere and constructive discourse toward a more creative future.
