We planned and executed the design of University of Tokyo’s open campus, a PR initiative to communicate to corporations and the general public, the various types of cutting edge research being conducted in the campus labs. Sixty-meter large-scale maps are used to present the location of various laboratories. A 50cm x 50cm display case, placed on the map, indicates the type of research being conducted. Visitors then use the large-scale map, as well as a small hand-held map, to guide themselves through the campus. In addition, arrows that appear to be held up by their own shadows, are displayed throughout the campus.
