Have you noticed that the process of disaster recovery is similar to the process of recovery for a human body? This is the realization we have reached while creating the slides that introduce our projects related to the Tohoku disaster. Our projects undergo the following four steps: 1. Establishing online communication and the Internet = the nerve system (after the disaster, for over a few days), 2. Providing the lifelines and necessities = blood vessels (over 1 month), 3. Store knowledge = immunity (over 6 months), and 4. Initiating new businesses from each community = cells (after 3 months). Given this process, we make sure to construct our projects step by step, based on the timespan of each stage.
